While living in the USA, Barbara was an adjunct faculty member of the Spiritual Leadership Institute, which is housed in Memorial Herman Hospital, the largest hospital chain in Houston, Texas. The Spiritual Leadership Institute promotes value-centred leadership that advances personal authenticity, professional fulfillment and organizational excellence.

In her own life, Barbara has discovered the inspiration of music as one of the pathways to create authentic leadership, "playing one's inner music". As a coach she relies on her own experience in successfully negotiating transformation in her own life. She has begun to expand the use of technology so that her one-on-one coaching methods are now accessible to clients living on different continents, through Skype. She has also adapted her work to provide meaningful team building processes, both in business settings and in non-profit organisations
